SÓN Announce New Honorary Patrons

John Lill & Sian Edwards become honorary patrons of new orchestra

Forging a path towards a new orchestra can’t be easy – and fledgling ensembles need every bit of help and support they can get. So it’s crucial, and very shrewd too, that són – the latest professional orchestra in the country – has attracted two of the UK’s biggest names in classical music to join with them as honorary patrons. Announced this week from their offices in Southampton, was the news that esteemed concert pianist John Lill has accepted the invitation to offer són his patronage, as has conductor and former English National Opera music director Sian Edwards.

Tess Kullander, són Orchestral Manager, reacted with enthusiasm. “As we generate momentum towards our launch event – approaching in a matter of weeks – it’s fabulous news that we’ve two well-known names in British classical music offering us their support and connecting themselves with són“, she said. “I’m keen to begin working towards projects involving them in the coming years. Let’s wait and see!”
